Summary:
A gentle walk through the pretty villages of Austwick and Feizor, ending at the market town of Settle is an excellent gentle day out with no severe gradients. There are lots of nice cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs in Settle to enjoy.

Approximate time: 6.5 hrs (assuming a long stop in Settle)

Approximate distance: 22 km

Difficulty: 2 / 5

From Eurospeleo, cross over the main road and walk into Austwick and then follow the footpaths east to Feizor. From Feizor take the Pennine Journey footpath south east to Stackhouse, and then follow the next path south (the Ribble Way) down the river into Settle.

For the return journey you can retrace your steps (this is the easiest route and is 2km shorter).

Alternatively, a more interesting route back can be taken by following the river north from Settle all the way to Little Stainforth. Then take the Dales High Way footpath west back to Feizor and then Austwick. The first section of the route out of Little Stainforth involves a slightly steep ascent.
